Hi there!
Meet the founder of The Author's Group
I'm Gabrielle French Allen, founder of The Author's Group. My own journey into publishing started the way many of my clients' journeys do — with a story I needed to tell. I wrote and published my two children's books, Our Daddy Daughter Day and Affirmations A-Z: For You, Me & Everybody, and along the way I also began designing book covers for other authors, learning firsthand what it takes to turn a manuscript into something you're proud to hold.
That's really why The Author's Group exists. I know what it feels like to carry a story for years — whether it's a personal triumph, a grief you've learned to live with, or a children's tale you've been nursing since your own kids were small — and not know where to start, who to call, or whether you can afford to bring it into the world. I built this agency to be the person you call.
There's nothing quite like the moment an author holds a real copy of their book for the first time. I get to experience that joy again and again, and I never take it for granted. If you have a story worth telling, I'd love to help you tell it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a completed manuscript?
No. The Author's Group works with clients at multiple stages, including people who only have an idea.
Do you work with first-time authors?
Absolutely. Supporting first-time authors is an important part of our work.
Is The Author's Group a publisher?
The Author's Group primarily operates as a publishing-services agency. For independent-publishing projects, the author remains the publisher and retains control of their work unless a different arrangement is expressly established in writing.
Do I keep the rights to my book?
Yes. Under our standard author-services model, authors retain ownership of their original work. Specific rights concerning illustrations, commissioned work, licensed assets, and other materials are addressed in individual agreements.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Qualifying services may be divided into a deposit and milestone payments. Required payments must be received before the corresponding work begins.
Do you offer free consultations?
No. Our professional consultations are paid services. You can submit an inquiry at no cost, and we'll determine whether a consultation is necessary for your project.
What types of books do you work with?
The Author's Group works with children's books, fiction, nonfiction, authority and business books, memoirs, biographies, faith-based and Christian books, devotionals, journals, workbooks, coloring books, and educational books and guides.
Can I hire you for just one service?
Yes. In addition to comprehensive services, The Author's Group offers select individual services such as writing coaching, manuscript evaluations, editing, proofreading, cover design, formatting, author biographies, and publishing assistance.
Do you work with schools and organizations?
Yes. Through The Education Studio, The Author's Group works with schools, arts organizations, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, community programs, and other institutions on curriculum development, educational resources, workshops, professional development, program development, and related projects.
